freshIt is an independent app that turns your grocery receipt into a shield against food waste. Our goal is simple: no food in your fridge should spoil unnoticed.
Our mission
Millions of tonnes of food are thrown away every year, and households account for the largest share of it. Most of the edible food binned at home is not spoiled — it simply was not used in time. freshIt aims at exactly that: automatic tracking from your receipt and timely reminders reduce both the waste and the money that leaves with it.
How it started
The idea was born from a jar of yogurt forgotten and spoiled at the back of the fridge. "The receipt already knows what I bought; why does no one remind me when it will spoil?" That question became the core of freshIt.
